My apologies if my cribbing from your autobiography on your site misrepresented anything. Of course, feel free to make any changes you think warranted. -- orthogonal 05:14, 8 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Jane.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Jane.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an arguement why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 17:00, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- Yikes. I missed this... the image was one that I had taken myself. I must have forgotten to tag it properly. I'll look for it and upload it again. --Joi 06:03, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi Joi, I'll have a stab at cleaning up your article. I'll start working on it on User:Jacoplane/Temp and merge it into the article when I'm finished. Cheers, JACOPLANE • 2007-09-28 13:06
- Awesome! I love you. -- Joi 13:17, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- :) I see other people are working on it too, I'll incorporate what changes they make into my own version. I'll edit it in my userspace since I tend to make lots of little edits, which can mess up the history page. Here's a bad example. It's going to take a while since there are loads of unsourced statements in the article and it'll take time to find all the references and add them to the article. I'll get started on it later today, now I have to run. Cheers, JACOPLANE • 2007-09-28 13:26
- OK. Thanks. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to help you find references, but let me know if I can help. -- Joi 13:30, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- You are definitely allowed to point out references. See the guideline details at Wikipedia:Autobiography. And we love you too, you're an exemplary human :)
- Hmm, I see that you don't have a welcome template on this page yet. But you probably know or don't need most of that, so I'll just point out the Wikipedia:Cheatsheet, which you might find handy. --Quiddity 18:00, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:SummerCDJI.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:SummerCDJI.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 15:17, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Timo Hannay
[edit]You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
A tag has been placed on Timo Hannay requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 07:04, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
Articles for deletion nomination of Timo Hannay
[edit]I have nominated Timo Hannay, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Timo Hannay. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Name of Detroit suburb where you grew up?
[edit]Hi, Joi! I added your name to History_of_the_Japanese_in_Metro_Detroit#Notable_residents since you grew up in the area. What is the name of the suburb where you grew up? Is this name printed in any reliable sources?

Hey. Thanks for asking. I spent time in Troy, Beverly Hills and Birmingham. Here's are articles that says that I grew up in Michigan and references Energy Conversion Devices in Troy. http://www.strategy-business.com/article/06309?pg=all and http://www.strategy-business.com/article/11111?pg=all Do we need something more specific? --Joi (talk) 01:10, 16 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for linking the articles! I took a look at them. They don't explicitly say that you grew up in Troy, Beverly Hills and Birmingham and I would like to have a specific reference for that information. One way to do it is to add this information to a page on your personal website. I can then cite that page and add you as a "notable resident" to those three cities and also update the Japanese in Detroit article. Also I added your name to the Japanese article about the Japanese in Detroit: ja:デトロイト大都市圏における日本人の歴史#.E5.AE.97.E6.95.99 WhisperToMe (talk) 23:50, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 8
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Japan Business Federation, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Komatsu. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Haruyuki Seki moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Haruyuki Seki, is not suitable as written to remain published. It appears there is a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As per WP policy, please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 13:23, 4 February 2023 (UTC)
Senke Jusshoku moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Senke Jusshoku, is not suitable as written to remain published. While it appears to be notable, it needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. There are large sections which are wholly uncited. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. I did this rather than removing the uncited material in the article, which I felt would be more disruptive. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask on my talk page. When you have the required sourcing (and every assertion needs a source), and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
